Info about $RECYCLE.BIN and System Volume Information Folders

Actually $RECYCLE.BIN and System Volume Information folders are not dangerous virus or any malware folders. These folders are present in every partition of your hard disk. They contain information about your volume and files in the disk.

$RECYCLE.BIN folder stores your deleted files and folders information. So, that you can restore any unfortunately deleted  file or folder by using recovery software's.
System Volume Information folder bears useful info regarding your volume i.e., info about each and every partition in hard disk.

Generally speaking, these folders are present in every windows operating system. Even a newly bought desktop or laptop have these folders but they are hidden. So that we cannot see them. Now a question might have raised in your mind that when I marked the option "Show hidden files, folders and drives" in Control Panel>Folder Options>View they haven't showed in my system previously but now these folders appear and most of us think that our computer is infected. Because most of the websites in internet say that it is a very dangerous virus or malware. Don't believe such kind of fake websites and stop worrying about these folders. If you want to see these folders there is a separate option to view these folders in Control Panel>Folder Options>View uncheck the following options:

By using the above option we cannot see $RECYCLE.BIN and System Volume Information folders directly there is special option for them.
After unchecking the above option $RECYCLE.BIN and System Volume Information folders appear in every partition of hard disk. So, we can't say it is a virus or malware.
But if these folders get infected than it is problem. As antivirus software's does not have access to these folders, so they cannot scan these folders. Even if they scan and detect virus infected files cannot be removed. So, always use good antivirus software to protect your computer and prevent these folders from getting infected. If you have any doubt that these folders are infected full scan your system using Microsoft Safety Scanner to download the software go the following link:
Remember Microsoft Safety Scanner doesn't install. It can directly scan your system without installing. You can also use MalwareBytes software to scan computer. To download a free version of malwarebytes software click on the following link:

After checking you can just make them invisible by checking the option "Hide protected operating system files(Recommended)" in Control Panel>Folder Options>View as shown in the above pictures.
Note: As these folders contain system operating files You can't delete them directly. If you want to delete them boot into safe mode there you can delete them. But doing like that may corrupt some of files in your hard disk. So, be careful before doing this action.

In order to prevent these folders from infecting use any of the following good antivirus software's:
  1. Bitdefender
  2. Kaspersky
  3. Norton
  4. AVG
  5. Avira
  6. Avast
  7. G-Data
  8. F-Secure
  9. Trend Micro
  10. ESET etc.
Bitdefender and Kaspersky are the highly ranked antivirus software's at present based on protection but they slow your computer. If you have low random access memory(RAM) then don't use this Bitdefender and Kaspersky antivirus. They impact your system performance and slows it down. Norton, Avast and G-Data doesn't slow down your computer they have very less impact on your system performance. So, you can use them for systems with low RAM i.e., computers below 4.00 GB RAM it is advisable to antivirus software's like Norton, Avast and G-data and computers above 4.00 GB RAM can use antivirus software's like Bitdefender and Kaspersky to protect their system from virus.
Please don't use pirated versions of antivirus software's. If you cannot afford for buying a antivirus then use free version provided by Avast or AVG or Avira. They provide good protection to your computer. Kill piracy and support software companies.
